The Perfect Button Down Shirt
As I told you a couple of months ago since summer we are living in Luzern, Switzerland. We have a beautiful flat (that I will show you at some point when we are finally done with all the decoration), Noah is going to school, and we are starting to meet people… The next thing on my list was to get a job.
That part was a bit more complicated as I don’t speak German but that did not stop me from applying to a job offer that sounded like it was tailor made for me. Long story short: I got the job. Yay! You can’t imagine how happy I am.
This week is my first week so I spent the last days trying to create the perfect work uniform. My idea was creating a look that was versatile, so i could wear it for the office but also easy to combine for weekends. The solution came in form of a button down shirt. A shirt is the perfect piece that you can combine with trousers, skirts or jeans. But not any shirt will work, so I on the hunt for THE shirt.
It had to be made of the right fabric, I did not want it to be too shiny or to feel too rough. I also wanted it to be slim fit and I was looking for something more than just the classic white shirt. So you can’t imagine how happy I was when I found this polka dot shirt from Gant.
Finally I found the perfect button down shirt:
I also got this one, will share some pictures on my Instagram Stories this week, make sure to follow me :)
By the way, Gant has a brilliant series of interviews called Couple Thinkers. On their last episode they interviewed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, love it!

The Grey Sweatshirt, Paris
A saw her while walking on the streets of paris after one of the fashion shows. Her green shiny boots got my attention but then I start focusing on how great she look with a pair of jeans and a “simple” grey sweatshirt.
The grey sweatshirt is definitely and essential piece that one should own. Need to get my hands in one like this!
Do you already have one?
Summer dress and straw hat, Paris
This summer the straw hat has made a come back. I love this in particular, the straw boater hat but for me it’s a very complicated hat to wear. Somehow hats and curls has always been a no go for me. I feel I will end up looking a bit like Krusty the clown. Maybe one day I will adventure to give the straw hat a try, maybe with a pony tail?
Check more on straw hats over here.
Blue & White Striped Shirt, Paris
We have been seeing the blue and white striped shirt everywhere! And for sure you already own one…or two! Here are some ideas on how to combine it. Try putting a dress on top like on the first picture, the golden shoes are a great idea.
The blue and white striped shirt gets along perfectly with a pair of jeans and heels or even flats. Another way how you can combine it is adding a touch of color with a bright orange like stylist Osiris Martinez did in the last photo.

White & Orange Lace Dress, Paris
It’s been exactly a week since I moved to Switzerland. It has rain every single day…Noah my oldest son told me the other day “summer here is like winter in Barcelona”. I am starting to believe he is right.
Hopefully as from tomorrow we will enjoy sunnier days, so this dress is making me dream of sun on my skin and picnics in the park.
How is your summer going?
