This past weekend we escaped Barcelona to go on a road trip to Biarritz and San Sebastian. We were a bit afraid of traveling for 5 1/2 hours in the car with our son Noah but fortunately Dora the explorer kept him busy almost the whole way.
Biarritz is an amazing place with a great architecture and a whimsical weather. During the same day it went from a crazy rain storm to a bright sunny day. As we were looking for a quite and relaxed time (not always easy with a toddler) we went for long walks by the sea and had nice lunches at the local brasseries.
We also escaped one day to San Sebastian which is just 50km south of Biarritz. We spent some time wandering around and then we went for pintxos in the old town. We went to several restaurants but definitely the best one was Bar Txalupa, amazing food!
This was my first time in both places but for sure I will go there more often.
